Superhero League of Hoboken CD-ROM Legend Entertainment Company Version 1.1 INSTALLATION, CONFIGURATION, AND BOOT DISK The INSTALL program for this game is in the \HOBOKEN directory on the CD-ROM. It will help you complete an installation to your hard disk and will help you create the LEGEND.INI file which contains your configuration information. If you experience memory problems, check the manual for a complete guide to creating a boot disk that will allow you to access your CD-ROM drive while playing the game. If you use the INSTALL program to create a boot disk, make sure you check the instructions in the manual for information about completion of the process. The boot disk created by the INSTALL program will allow your machine to boot, but it is likely that it will be missing important drivers for your mouse or sound card. ON-LINE HELP There is an On-line Help feature that is always accessible. When you see something you want help with, simply position the mouse cursor over it and press the right mouse button. Explanatory text will appear on the screen. OTHER COOL STUFF Check out the Music/Voice menu option from the system menu by pressing F2 or clicking the disk icon in the lower left corner of the screen. This feature allows you to disable or enable the text, sound effects, and voice. WAVETABLE SOUND CARDS Superhero League of Hoboken will work with MT-32 devices using a FULLY compatible MPU-401 interface (usually a hardware module), or a board such as the LAPC-1. A number of the newer wavetable sythesis boards, such as the Gravis Ultrasound, Sound Blaster AWE32, and Ensoniq SoundScape only provide partial support of the MPU-401 standard. You will need to run the game with the Adlib or Sound Blaster configuration rather than MT-32 configuration. Please check your sound card manual for more information. MISC. TROUBLESHOOTING Before installing or playing this game, please exit Windows. Although we have played Superhero League of Hoboken under Windows 3.1 we REALLY don't recommend it. Windows interferes with interrupts used by the game, and makes it more difficult to maximize available conventional memory. If the voice refuses to start or stops during game play, reset your sound board to its proper settings by following these instructions. First save your game, then turn your computer off and give it a few seconds to wind down. Make sure the CD is in the drive, label side up. Now, turn it back on and restart the game. Although the game installation program tries to ensure that you have enough room on your hard disk, each save file takes up about 18,000 bytes. If you tend to save frequently during game play, make sure that you have enough space on your hard drive BEFORE you get stuck half-way through the game unable to save. If you have a problem that hasn't been covered here, please check the game manual for more information. THANKS! Thank you for purchasing the Superhero League of Hoboken CD-ROM. We hope you enjoy it.
